Litho portrait
I shot this on Litho film years ago. Doing something like this digitally is a piece of cake nowadays, of course. The film I used wasn't a true lithography film, as that stuff was considerably more expensive. This film produced some grays, but when printed with a #5 filter, they all blocked up into blacks. The film was rated at ASA 25, which limited shooting environments considerably, but so did the fact that hard shadows and lots of contrast were a necessity. I've still got an old roll of it hanging around in my fridge somewhere.

Micheal Gross of MikeyAndMandy.com has a perfectly basic way for amateurs to increase the effectiveness of their nude photography: Bounce the flash. Unlike the complex system of lighting a scene with multiple off-camera strobes, his method allows for better lighting while still allowing for full camera control of the flash and easy setups.
"The flash shoud be pointed at the ceiling, slightly behind you. The light bounces down with a well lit, flattering overall effect."
