I did this a few years ago, in a creative photography class. I think I prefer emulsion transfers overall, but this one works pretty well.
Polaroid transfer from 35mm slide (1999)
I don't know if this is a bumble bee or not. It's certainly big, and it's definitely going after nectar. There were several others flying around as well, suggesting colony life. I don't know much about insects though, so it's all a guess. Check out the full resolution version under the all-sizes link on the flickr page.

Polaroid emulsion transfer made with vintage family slide and fixed to cotton art paper.
I shot this in a parking lot in the afternoon shade using a portable flash/umbrella. It's always been a favorite of mine.
